ABOUT ME

I was born in Lancashire a few decades ago, where I lived with my parents and 2 older brothers until the age of 9.  My father felt we needed more adventure in our lives, and so he took us thousands of miles away to live in South Africa, in a place called Zululand, North of the Tugela River.  There were crocodiles in the river, sharks in the sea, snakes in the bush and zebra and all kinds of buck in a small game park just a short walk up the road.  One of our neighbours kept "guard geese" but most had Alsatians and Staffies.  We had a soppy black Labrador called Sheba...

I stayed in South Africa until I was 23, at which point I felt I needed to see more of the world.  First, I returned to England where I worked in London for a couple of years, taking time off to travel around Europe and Ireland.  Next, I bunny hopped from the East to the West Coast of America on my way to live in Australia for a year, and finally returned to London via New Zealand and Thailand.  Other adventures have seen me trekking in the Himalayas, scuba diving in Bora Bora, dog sledding in Norway and surfing in Devon!

Four books, three dogs, two children and one husband later, I am now looking for my next adventure.  Sadly, these now all seem to be fictional, but you never know what's around the corner...
